Authenticated command execution via unsanitized hostTime
Published May 4, 2026 · Updated May 4, 2026
Command injection in TOTOLINK WA300 5.2cu.7112_B20190227 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via a crafted POST request. In NTPSyncWithHost, Var receives hostTime from JSON data, and the telnet service interprets embedded shell separators instead of treating the value solely as time data. A valid SESSION_ID cookie is required, after which injected shell commands execute on the appliance without user interaction.
