Authenticated ClientApp modification via entitlement alias
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Apache Syncope allows remote authenticated users with create rights to modify ClientApps without update rights. AMEntitlement assigns CLIENTAPP_UPDATE the CLIENTAPP_CREATE string, so ClientAppLogic's update guard accepts the wrong role before replacing a client application. Reachability requires an authenticated administrator holding ClientApp create entitlement; the defect also denies updates to administrators holding only the intended update entitlement.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=3.0.0-M0 <=3.0.16
- Affected versionversion=4.0.0-M0 <=4.0.7
