Authenticated file modification denial via token locks
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Improper access control in Nextcloud Server 32.0.0 through 34.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to keep files locked indefinitely. The Files Lock app's LockService::canUnlock method accepted only the WebDAV lock token or lock owner's identity for TYPE_TOKEN locks, omitting the underlying file owner's override. An authenticated user able to place a token-based WebDAV lock on another user's file can deny the owner the ability to modify it until the lock is removed from the database.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
