Unauthorized blobstore modification via mischecked endpoint permission
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Sonatype Nexus Repository 3.19.0 through 3.95.x allows remote authenticated users to alter blobstore configuration. Two blobstore group management REST API endpoints accept a group conversion from users with nexus:blobstores:create instead of enforcing nexus:blobstores:update. The named create permission must be explicitly delegated by an administrator and is not granted by default; exploitation changes repository storage behavior without the required approval.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
