Unauthenticated signing-secret disclosure via unprotected REST route
Published Aug 29, 2026 · Updated Aug 29, 2026
Information exposure in HigherEdLab HEL Online Classroom 1.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to read stored settings through a REST API route. The route returns the plugin's saved configuration without authenticating the requester or checking authorization, exposing the shared secret used to sign BigBlueButton API requests. Any network client that can reach the WordPress REST API can retrieve the secret; the published record reports disclosure only, not settings modification or service interruption.
