Service interruption via unbounded gateway-response allocation
Published Sep 30, 2026 · Updated Sep 30, 2026
Uncontrolled memory allocation in the CODESYS Gateway Client allows remote attackers controlling a gateway to exhaust memory and interrupt service. The client trusts a gateway response's size field and allocates memory without an appropriate upper bound. Exploitation requires a malicious gateway to return a crafted response to a connecting client; the resulting exhaustion renders that client unavailable without reported data access or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
