CVE-2026-76989Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote crash via stale-buffer CPF reparse

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in liftoff-sr CIPster 1802525be27d33e19a9a83c163e331a1d13b1892 allows remote attackers to crash the service over TCP. Encapsulation::ReceiveTcpMsg discards an oversized body but reports its declared length, causing stale buffer bytes to be reparsed as CPF data past the global receive buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted request sequence on TCP/44818 causes a deterministic server-side crash.
