CVE-2026-76861Network attack vector

Remote code execution via unsized CGI formatting

Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Netcore NR255-V 1.5.130703 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted CGI request. The ntools_tcpdump_start_set.cgi handler uses an unsized sprintf operation to copy attacker-controlled form values into a fixed stack buffer. The published record does not state whether the management endpoint requires authentication; successful overflow can corrupt control data and execute code.
