Improper firmware validation in Netcore NR268 1.7.121109 allows remote attackers to install unauthorized firmware via the web interface. The put_file.cgi upload path and check_image_uuid.c pass forged authenticity results to mtd_write instead of enforcing a trusted signature. The authentication requirement is undisclosed; successful exploitation replaces trusted appliance code and enables persistent device compromise.
