Authenticated code execution via unconditional remote-code trust
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 29, 2026
Code injection in XorbitsAI Xinference before 2.12.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a custom model. Six rerank, embedding, and transformer loader paths pass trust_remote_code=True to Hugging Face loaders, causing tokenizer auto_map entries in an attacker-supplied model directory to import Python. Model-registration and launch access plus a worker-readable model path are required; the payload runs with worker-process privileges.
