Authenticated command execution via WAN username injection

Command injection in the Edimax BR-6428nC web interface through 1.16 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via WAN settings. The /goform/setWAN handler does not neutralize shell metacharacters in the pppUserName and pptpUserName parameters before command use. Access to the web interface is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied commands with the router service's privileges.
