Root command execution via authenticated API injection
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Command injection in affected HPE Networking EdgeConnect SD-WAN Gateways allows remote authenticated users to execute system commands as root. The vendor identifies an API endpoint as the locus but has not disclosed the request field or unsafe operation that passes untrusted input to command execution. Low-privilege gateway credentials and network access to that endpoint are required; successful exploitation grants full control of the appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=9.4.0.0 <=9.4.8.2
- Affected versionversion=9.5.0.0 <=9.5.8.1
- Affected versionversion=9.6.0.0 <=9.6.3.1
- Affected versionversion=9.7.0.0 <=9.7.0.0
