Unauthenticated root execution via traversal and DDS bridge
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Path traversal in Unitree Robotics G1 EDU firmware 1.5.2 and earlier allows remote attackers on the local network to execute commands as root. An unauthenticated WebRTC-to-DDS bridge on TCP port 9991 accepts control messages, while chat_go writes uploaded knowledge files through attacker-controlled traversal paths into the bashrunner script directory. A host on the robot's local network can restart bashrunner and cause its shell subprocess to execute the planted payload as uid 0.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
