Unauthenticated account takeover via customer email overwrite
Published May 9, 2026 · Updated May 9, 2026
Account takeover in LatePoint 5.5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to seize non-super-admin WordPress accounts via guest booking. The guest merge replaces an existing customer's email by matching a supplied phone number, and save_connected_wordpress_user() passes the unverified address to wp_update_user(). Exploitation requires WordPress user integration, phone-based merging, disabled customer authentication, and an account not already linked to a LatePoint customer; single-site Administrator accounts are excluded.
