Authenticated model deserialization via scheduled searches
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Improper access control in Splunk AI Toolkit before 6.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to deserialize model files through scheduled searches. The apply search command remains available to scheduled searches because the app fails to mark the command as risky, allowing a scheduled job to load a model file. A role with the schedule_search capability is required, and the resulting deserialization can compromise Splunk data and service operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
