CVE-2026-76372Network attack vector

Target command execution via misclassified scan action

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Incorrect permission assignment in Splunk NMAP Scanner before 3.0.15 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through Safe Mode. The connector action manifest marks scan network as read-only even though its script and script_args inputs invoke Nmap Scripting Engine operations that can write to targets. A role allowed to create, edit, or run playbooks is required; successful use can change firewall or interface settings or execute commands on scanned systems.
