Stored XSS via unsanitized note format changes
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Stored XSS in Splunk SOAR before 8.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser through notes. Splunk SOAR treats existing note content as HTML without sanitizing it when the note format changes. Exploitation requires an Incident Commander to trick another user into initiating a browser request and opening the crafted note; execution remains within that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
