CVE-2026-76358Network attack vector

Host file writes via unchecked archive extraction

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Path traversal in Splunk SOAR before 8.6.0 allows remote authenticated users with app-install privileges to write files beyond a temporary directory. The app-install archive extraction routine extracts attacker-controlled member paths without verifying that their resolved destinations remain inside the intended temporary directory. App-install privileges and network access are required; successful exploitation can write host files, compromising integrity or interrupting service.
