Arbitrary file deletion via bundle delta
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Path traversal in Splunk Enterprise before 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14 allows attackers to delete files via a crafted bundle delta. The cluster-manager knowledge bundle delta handler accepts attacker-controlled removal paths and does not confine delete operations to the staging directory, while the endpoint also fails to enforce the expected admin-or-power authorization boundary. Reachability requires authenticated network access as a user without the admin or power role; successful requests can remove files writable by the Splunk service account, causing integrity loss or service interruption on the cluster manager.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0 <10.0.9
