Stored XSS via unvalidated workflow-action URLs
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Stored XSS in Splunk Enterprise before 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14 lets remote authenticated users run JavaScript via crafted workflow-action URLs. Dashboard Studio accepts a crafted workflow-action URL for storage and does not sufficiently validate that URL before processing it when Event Actions invokes the stored action. Exploitation requires a user with the power role to plant the action and another authenticated user to click Continue after a phishing lure, after which the script can expose data or trigger actions available through Splunk Web as that victim.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
