Authenticated-session SPL execution via forwarder filters
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026
SPL injection in Splunk Enterprise Monitoring Console before 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14 allows remote attackers to run SPL via a crafted link. Monitoring Console uses insufficiently validated forwarder filter data to build forwarder dashboard searches, so crafted link parameters can inject attacker-controlled Search Processing Language that executes with the opened session's permissions. Exploitation requires phishing an authenticated user into opening the Monitoring Console link in Splunk Web, after which injected searches can read data and perform permitted actions as that user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
