Admin-context data access via dashboard SPL injection
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
SPL injection in Splunk Secure Gateway allows remote attackers to run dashboard searches via a crafted Splunk Web URL. Affected releases are Splunk Enterprise 10.4.0 through 10.4.1, 10.2.0 through 10.2.5, 10.0.0 through 10.0.8, and 9.4.0 through 9.4.13, plus Splunk Secure Gateway 3.10 before 3.10.9, 3.9 before 3.9.23, and 3.8 before 3.8.70; Splunk Secure Gateway dashboards place caller-supplied values into dashboard searches without correctly neutralizing them. Exploitation requires phishing an admin or sc_admin user into opening the crafted URL in Splunk Web, after which injected SPL runs with that user’s permissions and can expose data and alter search results or lookup data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
