Stored XSS via sparkline tooltip options
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
XSS in Splunk Enterprise before 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a stored dashboard view. The dashboard table renderer stores attacker-controlled tooltip options and renders tooltip content without sufficiently restricting option values or escaping markup before display. Exploitation requires a non-admin, non-power Splunk user to save the crafted dashboard and another user to open it and hover over a sparkline cell, after which the script inherits that second user's data access and browser-side actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
