Power-user XSS via unescaped tour content
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Stored XSS in Splunk Enterprise before 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14 lets remote authenticated users run JavaScript via a crafted tour link. Splunk Web renders tour content and tour navigation links without sufficient output encoding and accepts a tour selector value that can be treated as markup. Exploitation requires a user with the power role to create the malicious tour and another authenticated user to open the link, after which the script can act with that user's Splunk Web access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
