User-context SPL execution via CSRF

Splunk Enterprise Event Type Builder before 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14 allows remote attackers to run SPL searches via CSRF. The Event Type Builder accepts cross-site request input and retains SPL-affecting values while constructing sample event searches, letting attacker-supplied parameters alter the SPL executed in the victim session. Exploitation requires phishing an authenticated user into loading a crafted browser request on an instance with Splunk Web enabled, which can expose data and stored credentials available to that user.
