Stored XSS via unescaped alert threshold
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Stored XSS in Splunk Web in Splunk Enterprise before 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14 lets remote authenticated users run script via a crafted link. Splunk Web inserts the attacker-controlled alert threshold value into generated alert trigger condition markup without escaping special characters, so script saved in that field is rendered as active browser content. Exploitation requires a user with the schedule_search capability to store the payload and another user to open the crafted link; resulting access is bounded to data and actions available to the victim's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
