Unauthorized access via exposed embedded-report session data
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026
Access control flaw in Splunk Enterprise before 10.4.1, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, or 9.4.14 lets remote attackers reuse session material from page source. The dispatch archive download path fails to enforce the embedded-report authorization boundary and includes sensitive session material inside archived search-job data returned for an embedded report. Exposure requires a page that embeds a Splunk report and lets attackers read its HTML source; the recovered session material can then be reused to read data and make changes allowed to the report owner's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
