Unauthenticated command execution via Patroni REST API
Published Oct 7, 2026 · Updated Oct 7, 2026
Authentication bypass in Splunk Enterprise 10.2.0 through 10.2.6 and 10.4.0 through 10.4.2 lets remote attackers run commands via Patroni. The Patroni REST API on a search head cluster member accepts critical configuration operations without authenticating the caller, allowing attacker-controlled operating-system commands to execute. Exploitation requires network access to that API on a clustered search head; Splunk documents the affected Storage sidecar as Linux-only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.2 <10.2.7
