Unauthorized scripted lookup writes via unchecked configuration endpoints
Published Oct 7, 2026 · Updated Oct 7, 2026
Improper authorization in Splunk Enterprise 9.4, 10.0, 10.2, and 10.4 allows remote authenticated users to edit scripted lookups via REST endpoints. Raw transforms configuration write paths save scripted lookup settings without applying external lookup capability checks. The attacker needs a Splunk account but does not need the admin or power role; the supplied record establishes unauthorized lookup-definition changes, not execution of a lookup script.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0 <10.0.10
