Unauthorized module deletion via missing ownership check
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Improper access control in Splunk Enterprise before 10.2.6 and 10.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete other users' SPL2 modules. The data management orchestrator deletes a module identified by the caller without checking that the requester owns the targeted SPL2 resource. Any authenticated user lacking the admin or power role can remove another user's SPL2 module on affected 10.2.x and 10.4.x deployments, disrupting that user's saved content but not exposing data directly.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
