JavaScript execution via page-message origin bypass
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
XSS in Splunk Enterprise before 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.13 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via phishing. A Splunk Web page message handler processes messages from attacker-controlled pages without validating their origin or source before the data reaches page logic. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious web page while using Splunk Web; the resulting script runs with that user's access to read visible data and perform permitted actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0 <10.0.9
