CVE-2026-76224Network attack vector

Authenticated RCE via silent Groovy fallback

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Code injection in ArcadeDB before 26.8.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands via Gremlin queries. In ArcadeGremlin.executeStatement(), the documented-secure java gremlin-lang path catches parse failures and, when any request parameters are present, falls through to the insecure Groovy engine instead of returning an error. Any database role, including the read-only reader role, can reach the fallback when the Gremlin module is deployed, gaining code execution as the ArcadeDB server process user.
