Authenticated admin-data disclosure via missing authorization
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Missing authorization in phpMyFAQ before 4.1.7 allows remote authenticated users to read administrative configuration data via admin API endpoints. LdapController, ElasticsearchController, OpenSearchController, and DashboardController gate read routes with userIsAuthenticated() instead of PermissionType::CONFIGURATION_EDIT, so a valid session can fetch LDAP settings, search index statistics, and dashboard analytics. Any logged-in account reaches the affected endpoints; the disclosed data is bounded to sensitive administrative and backend topology information, not settings changes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
