Privilege escalation via stored form-field script injection
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source August 2026 releases and earlier allows remote attackers to escalate privileges via crafted input. Affected form fields store attacker-controlled input without adequate neutralization, causing a victim's browser to execute injected JavaScript. Exploitation requires no credentials but does require a victim to view the page containing the stored field, exposing the victim's account or session to elevated attacker control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
