Credential disclosure via unnormalized redirect paths
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Credential disclosure in Eclipse Jetty HttpClient allows remote attackers to steal authorization headers via crafted redirects. HttpClient matches credentials against the unnormalized /secure prefix of /secure/../evil and sends the Authorization header to /evil instead of respecting the normalized destination's authentication scope. Exploitation requires control of redirects, configured client authentication, and an attacker-controlled application on the same domain; the disclosed consequence is exposure of credentials to that application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
