CVE-2026-76166

Advertise listener shutdown via incomplete multicast datagram

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Red Hat mod_cluster allows adjacent remote attackers to shut down proxy advertisement with a crafted datagram. AdvertiseListenerImpl passes absent Date, Digest, and Sequence header values to verifyDigest(), whose null dereference escapes the worker exception handler. One datagram on the advertisement multicast segment permanently stops that listener until restart, even when AdvertiseSecurityKey is configured.
