SSRF via absolute query URL override

Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026

SSRF in Redash's JSON runner before 26.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to send requests outside the configured base URL. In redash/query_runner/json_ds.py, _get_all_results() uses urljoin to combine the configured base_url with an untrusted query URL, letting an absolute URL replace the destination while retaining configured HTTP Basic Auth credentials. Affected versions start at 10.0.0 and require execute_query permission on the JSON data source; credential disclosure requires configured Basic Auth, and enabled REDASH_ENFORCE_PRIVATE_IP_BLOCK constrains private and internal destinations.
