Authenticated command execution via unescaped monitor name
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
OS command injection in ZoneMinder allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as the web server user during event export. In web/includes/download_functions.php, a monitor name is manually wrapped in single quotes and concatenated into ffmpeg and archive shell commands without escapeshellarg(). Exploitation requires monitor create or edit access, an event for that monitor, and an authenticated user with Events=View to export it.
