Sandbox escape via crashpad link following
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Link following in CredentialProvider in Google Chrome before 151.0.7922.169 on Windows allows local attackers to execute code outside the sandbox. The GCPW crash-reporting code used a Crashpad database path under the SYSTEM TEMP directory and followed attacker-controlled links there instead of restricting writes to the properly ACLed ProgramData-based data directory. Reachability requires local code execution on the host, but a successful exploit can redirect privileged crash-dump writes and turn that file-operation flaw into code execution beyond Chrome's sandbox.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
