Sandbox escape via Dawn buffer overflow
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Buffer overflow in Dawn in Google Chrome before 151.0.7922.169 on Android allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted HTML. Google's published records identify only Dawn, Chromium's WebGPU implementation, as the vulnerable locus; the exact function or parsing path that overruns a buffer on untrusted page-supplied input has not been publicly disclosed, and the linked Chromium bug remains restricted. Exploitation requires a user to load attacker-controlled web content in Android Chrome and can yield code execution beyond the browser sandbox.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
