Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

The post-save handler passes the attacker-controlled newsletters_mailinglistsroles POST value directly to get_users() without verifying the sender's authority. Author-level access is sufficient to target any WordPress role, enabling mass mailing and phishing through the site's outbound email channel.
