Physical entry via replayed NFC credential UID
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Authentication bypass in Norwegian Cruise Line door access control allows physically proximate attackers to unlock doors with copied NFC UIDs. The access controller treats the NTAG212 chip's static seven-byte manufacturer UID as proof of authorization even though each NFC read transmits it in cleartext. The attacker must first obtain a valid credential's UID and present a tag reporting that value within NFC range; the documented consequence is unauthorized entry.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
