Memory corruption via overlong password fields
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in alphapd in TRENDnet TV-IP751WIC 11.03.03 allows attackers to crash the device via password fields. The referenced submission package says alphapd reads AdminPassword, PPPoEPassword, DDNSPassword, EmailPassword, FTPPassword, and related credentials with websGetVar() or nvram_bufget() and copies them into fixed-size stack buffers without length checks across multiple CGI handlers. The published PoC sends oversized values to /cgi-bin/admin endpoints and demonstrates overflow or crash behavior; VulDB's CVSS marks the issue PR:L, while the submission package states initial-setup devices may expose the same paths without an administrator password.
