CVE-2026-75860Network attack vector

Site takeover via unauthenticated option writes

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Improper privilege management in JSON Options through 0.0.4 allows remote attackers to gain administrator access via arbitrary option updates. The plugin instantiates on every init request, calls on_post whenever $_POST is non-empty, and its import path issues UPDATE wp_options queries from uploaded JSON keys without any current_user_can, check_admin_referer, or nonce verification. Any reachable request path that carries the expected POST fields and file upload can enable user registration, set the default role to administrator, and lead to full site takeover.
