Metrics disclosure via pre-auth endpoint processing
Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026
Information disclosure in Static Web Server 2.43.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to retrieve Prometheus metrics via /metrics. In src/handler.rs, the request pipeline lets the metrics handler return a response before the basic-auth preprocessor evaluates the request. Both basic authentication and metrics must be enabled; exposed data includes virtual host names, traffic volumes, error rates, latency distributions, and active connections.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
