CVE-2026-75584Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via zero-length payload assertion

Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

Reachable assertion in NASA/JPL ION-DTN before 4.2.0-b allows remote attackers to crash a receiving process via an empty BPv7 payload. The shared acquireBundle() path passes a decoded zero length to zco_clone(), violating its positive-length precondition and triggering CHKZERO. Any reachable convergence-layer adapter that feeds untrusted BPv7 bytes to bpEndAcq() exposes the crash; builds using --disable-core-file-needed log the assertion without terminating.
