Authenticated command execution via unsandboxed Email Twig rendering
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Server-side template injection in GetGrav Grav Email plugin before 4.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. Email::processParams recursively passes page-controlled action strings to processTwigString, which registers an @EmailVar template and renders it outside Grav's sandbox. Accounts with api.access and api.pages.write can reach the sink without super-administrator, Twig-content, system-write, shell, root, or working-mail-server access.
