Heap buffer overflow in the inet TCP driver in Erlang/OTP allows remote attackers to crash the BEAM VM via a crafted packet. The driver uses a signed packet-length calculation in {packet,4} mode, allowing a receive-buffer write to overrun VM allocator metadata by up to about 2 GB. An unauthenticated peer must reach an open Erlang TCP port using that mode; the supported consequence is a VM crash, while precise code execution is extremely unfeasible.
