Client crash via unlimited frame allocation
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Resource exhaustion in RabbitMQ Java Client before 5.34.0 allows remote attackers to crash client processes with oversized AMQP frames. AMQConnection.start() applies Math.min to the inbound body limit and a negotiated frameMax of zero, then Utils.framePayloadLimit() treats zero as unlimited, so Frame.readFrom() allocates the attacker-declared frame size before content validation. Exploitation requires a malicious AMQP server or a man-in-the-middle attacker able to alter Connection.Tune and inject a frame; the bounded consequence is client-process termination from memory exhaustion.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
