Remote information disclosure via empty indentation stack
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in yaml-cpp 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information by supplying crafted YAML documents. Scanner::PopIndent and Scanner::PushIndentTo call m_indents.top() after malformed indentation leaves the deque empty, dereferencing an invalid element. Exposure requires an application to pass attacker-controlled YAML to YAML::Load; the same invalid dereference also causes a deterministic process crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
